I’m stoked to announce I’ll be teaching a new mindfulness meditation-for-beginners course beginning 25 July. This course has been created to help manage anxiety, exhaustion and overwhelm especially among parents.

I’ve developed the material with mothers and mothers-to-be in mind, but the course is open to anyone who feels busy, tired and/or stressed and is interested in learning how to use mindfulness in a practical way.

The course will cover simple techniques you can use immediately, as well as offering practical guidance on how to find the time and motivation for a regular practice when you’re stressed out and time-poor. Meditation is a topic very close to my heart, and I’m super excited to share it with you.

I’ll be sharing more over the coming weeks about how meditation has helped me in my own life. In the meantime, you can learn a bit more about how I went from someone thought they just “couldn’t meditate” to a card-carrying convert here.

FAQs

When and where will the course take place?

The course runs for four weeks via video conferencing (Zoom) starting on Saturday 25 July at 9:30am or Friday 24 July USA (4:30pm PST/7:30 PST). Each session will run for one hour.

I can’t make these dates/times, are there alternatives?

If you have a preferred time and/or day, please email me using the form below with your preference. If there is enough demand I will introduce an additional time slot. If now just isn’t a good time, let me know if you would like to be kept up to date for future courses.

What if I miss a session?

The course has been designed to be delivered live however if you miss a session a recording will be made available to watch at your leisure.

Can my baby be on the call?

Absolutely! This is a course for parents, we’ll be learning how to meditate whilst juggling babies, so kids on the call are no problem.

Will there be homework?

There is no homework but you will be encouraged to try out the techniques we practice each week between sessions so I can offer support and guidance if you run into any issues.

How much does the course cost?

The course is being offered at an intro rate of $60 AUD, payable by direct deposit (details provided on enrolment). Scholarships are offered for anyone experiencing financial hardship. Please email me using the form below if you’d like to apply for a scholarship.

Twenty per cent of course proceeds will be donated to Waltja Tjutangku Palyapayi an organisation led by indigenous leaders supporting communities with essential programs in the Northern Territory.

How do I enrol?

Simply register your details through the form at the bottom of this page. Enrolments close 24 July.

I’ve tried to meditate but can’t do it. Why try again?

I thought I was just “not a meditation person” until I found the right style of meditation for me. It’s a very personal thing and I’ll be offering plenty of support and guidance to help you find a practice that works for you.

I already know how to meditate, is this course right for me?

This course will offer material that supports you wherever you are in your meditation journey however if you have any reservations, please drop me a note using the form at the bottom of the page to discuss where you’re at.

I’m not a parent but I want to learn, can I still join?

Absolutely! You don’t need to be a parent to get the benefits from this class. Alternatively, I also offer a general introduction to mindfulness course which you can sign up for by emailing me directly.
