If you’d told me five years ago I would soon retrain and become a meditation teacher I would have laughed you out of town.

Meditation was something that was always around me, but definitely  wasn’t for me. I clearly remember as a kid my dad feverishly lauding the benefits of meditation. He meditated three times a day, he even used to listen to guided meditations while he was driving (side note: do not try this at home kids!). I thought I understood it, but that it just wasn’t my jam.

When a health crisis forced me to do a major reset, I was banned from all my go-to stress management tools (mostly cardio) and was prescribed rest and meditation – cue world’s biggest eye roll. I reluctantly enrolled in a course. To my surprise meditation became a life raft, and I held onto it for dear life through some of the trickiest years of my life that would soon follow.

When I finally stepped away from the magazine world two years ago, enrolling in an intensive meditation teacher training course was one of the first things I did. There was a lot of uncertainty but sharing the gift of mindfulness was something I was sure was part of my next chapter.

Fast forward 12 months, and I was studying to become a teacher and also navigating the brave new world of parenthood. Suddenly my cherished meditation practice was under threat. I was on someone else’s clock now. Finding the time and making the effort became much more difficult than ever before.

But somehow, my practice evolved. Now it feels fitting my first course has been developed to support new parents. I am not an expert in parenting. But I am an expert in understanding the juggle of early parenthood because I am living it.

You don’t have to have to be pregnant or have a baby to get something out of this course; it’s really for anyone who feels they don’t have time to meditate, or who likes the idea of meditation but feels it just isn’t their jam. It’s super practical and will give you the tools to establish a practice that works for you.
